Terms of use
These terms govern the use of Joko, the app for organising and joining group sports activities, provided by Beezey. By creating an account or using the app you state that you have read and accept them.
1. The service
Joko connects people who want to play sport together. Organisers publish an activity with a limited number of places; people who want to take part sign up. Signing up is immediate and activities are free. Beezey provides the platform but does not organise, run or control activities, which are created by users.
2. Who can use Joko
- You must be at least 14 years old. If you are under 18 you confirm that you have the consent of your parents or legal guardian.
- You must give us truthful data when you sign up, in particular your date of birth, and keep it up to date. You cannot change your date of birth: it is used to enforce the age limits of activities.
- You may have one account only and you are responsible for its security: do not share your password.
3. Community rules
Joko is a place to play sport together with respect for everyone. The following is not allowed in profiles, photos, names, activities and descriptions:
- offensive, threatening, defamatory or discriminatory content, or content that incites hatred or violence;
- sexually explicit content or content that exploits minors;
- harassment, bullying, stalking or aggressive behaviour towards other users;
- illegal or dangerous activities, or ones that encourage drug use, alcohol abuse or risky behaviour to oneself or others;
- spam, advertising, scams, fake profiles or impersonation of other people;
- content that infringes the rights of others, for example photos that are not yours or other people’s personal data without consent;
- any use that circumvents age limits or the platform’s controls.
Zero tolerance: we remove content that breaks these rules and may suspend or close the account of anyone who does, without notice in serious cases.
4. Reporting and blocking
You can report any activity or profile from the “…” menu on its page, choosing the reason. We review reports and act without delay, normally within 24 hours. You can also block a user: you will no longer see their activities and they will not see yours. Blocked users are managed in Settings › Blocked users. In an emergency or if you fear for your safety contact the authorities immediately (112 in Europe).
5. Your content
You remain the owner of the content you publish (photos, text, activities). You grant us a non-exclusive, free licence limited to hosting it, showing it to other users within the service and adapting it technically (for example resizing photos). The licence ends when you delete the content or the account, apart from the technical time needed for removal. You warrant that you have the rights to publish it and that it does not breach these terms or the law.
6. Activities, safety and personal responsibility
- Sports activities carry risks to health and safety. You take part at your own risk and it is for you to judge whether you are physically fit, whether the activity and venue are safe and whether insurance or a medical certificate is needed.
- Organisers are responsible for the activity they publish: accurate information, venue, safety rules, permits and equipment, and respecting the age limits stated.
- You meet people you do not know: choose public places, tell someone where you are going and do not share personal or sensitive data if you do not feel comfortable.
- Beezey does not verify users’ identity, declared age or skills and does not guarantee that activities take place as described.
7. Signing up and cancelling
Signing up for an activity is immediate, subject to available places and age limits. You can withdraw until the activity starts. The organiser can edit or cancel the activity: we will tell you in the app. Places cannot be booked beyond the stated capacity.
8. Notifications
You may receive reminders and push notifications if you turn them on. Promotional messages are off by default and you receive them only if you accept; you can change your mind at any time in Settings › Notifications.
9. Proper use of the service
You may not use Joko for unlawful purposes, try to access other people’s accounts or systems, bypass security measures, collect user data automatically, interfere with the service or copy its content. Joko, its brand, design and software belong to Beezey or its licensors: we grant you only a personal, non-transferable right to use the app.
10. Suspension and closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile › Settings › Delete account: profile, photos and sign-ups are erased within 15 days. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the law, or where necessary to protect other users. Data is processed as described in the privacy policy.
11. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”, without guarantees of continuous availability or freedom from errors. To the extent permitted by law Beezey is not liable for damage arising from activities organised by users, from the behaviour of other users or from content published by third parties, nor for indirect damage. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, nor the mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
12. Apple and Google
If you download Joko from the App Store or Google Play, these terms are an agreement between you and Beezey, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app, its maintenance or support and are not a party to this agreement; Apple has the right to enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.
13. Changes
We may change these terms or the service. If the changes are significant we will tell you in the app or by email; by continuing to use Joko after being told you accept the new version. If you disagree you can delete your account.
14. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory rules of your country of residence and the forum the law gives you remain unaffected. For questions or complaints write to info@beezey.it.
